Dan (my fiancé) won tickets to the Avett Brothers show in Charlotte this past weekend!
How?
Laurel Market, a place we frequent for delicious, fresh sandwiches, worked with cello player Joe Kwon to design the sandwiches below. Each time you bought one this month, you were entered into the drawing. Dan also won a free 6 pack of beer from the market and a limited edition live Emotionalism CD.
The show was so much fun. Grace Potter & The Nocturnals wailed out soulful sounds, and the Avett Brothers tore it up! Here's the last song of their set. I wish I'd gotten one of the high energy songs on video, but we were too busy dancing and singing!
We were both supposed to work that night, so with one day's notice we had to scramble to get people to cover our shifts. Thanks to our great co-workers, it all worked out eventually.
The Bojangles Arena was sold out. Just look at the people!
It was the perfect occasion to wear my new dress & a flower in my hair! These days I am usually wearing either a cashier uniform or clothes that are OK to get paint on, so it was nice to actually dress up a bit! It's been a stressful week, so the show was a fun release that I really needed.
***Disclosure: We have no personal connections with Laurel Market or The Avett Brothers, except just being fans of both! It was just Dan's lucky day!***
