A Too Real Carnival Experience

Taking a ride on the high swings all by my lonesome. There just weren't enough people there to fill them up!

The Carnival was in town last week, and my husband and I went out for an afternoon of fun. The funny thing was that the reality of it all was just a little...depressing. I'm not sure if it was the dreary weather, the sparse crowd, or just the fact that we're more aware of our surroundings than the last time we went to a carnival. My husband said it best: "You know, for a place designed to be so much fun, it really just feels sad." We just couldn't ignore the tired worn down employees, rickety rusting rides, and sad animals. Despite the general feeling, we still managed to squeak out a little fun.
